Media Frenzy

Am I posting this out of the desire to move forward the study of the media beneath these Glittering Squires? Or is it just that streaming media might annoy our technical chums. Anyway, a couple of interesting posts from Open Culture.

Best Online Documentaries is a no-frills website which aggregates a selection (589 in total to date) of high quality documentaries from Google Video. Sure there's chaff but some genuinely educational material here.

Next up, The List Universe has posted 10 (+1) classic movies which can be found in Google Video & YouTube. I would query the legality of some of these but, hell, you might just go out & buy the DVD, mightn't you?
Films included are:
  • Fritz Lang's M
  • The General (Buster Keaton)
  • The Goldrush (Charlie Chaplin)
  • Mr Smith Goes To Washington
  • Nosferatu
  • The Passion of Joan of Arc
  • It Happened One Night
  • Begotten
  • It's A Wonderful Life
  • All Quiet On The Western Front
  • Nineteen Eighty-Four.
