Youblisher

Two years ago I tried to convert our college prospectus to a flippable e-book /e-zine format. Each page had to be scanned, saved as a jpg, embedded in our Joomla-based website with a commercial component / plug-in, and... I gave up. Too much bloody work & not too wonderful to look at.
Well, I suppose that prospectuses (prospecti?) are not supposed to be wonderfully interesting.
Cut to the chase. A tip from Pat Donaghy on her excellent Free Resources for Education blog this morning & it's game over. 3 prospectuses uploaded to the Youblisher website & available as flippable e-books in less than half an hour. Ready to be embedded into your website with a wee bit of HTML cut 'n' paste.
So this isn't really cutting edge any more? Well, our marketing people, on their weekly trawl through the library website for any delinquent language, e.g. vaguely humorous entries, were much impressed. Need I say more?
Anyway here's an example, the JISC Guide to Second Life:

You didn't really want a prospectus, did you?
The deal goes down...
At last. The wanderer returns. A new album from Gil Scott Heron out next Monday (7th)
